Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 27, 2026
This is the privacy policy for Piiq ("we", "us"), a mobile app that helps you find places to go in San Francisco. We try to keep this short and honest. If something here is unclear, email hello@thepiiq.com.
What we collect
- Account info — your email address, username, display name, and (if you upload one) a profile photo. Provided by you when you sign up.
- Approximate location — used to center the map on you and show nearby places. Only while the app is in use, and only if you grant permission. We don't store your location history.
- Activity in the app — places you save, accounts you follow, basic interaction events (e.g., which screens you opened) used to understand how the app is being used and to improve it.
- Device info — basic technical info (iOS version, app version, anonymous device identifier) used for crash reports and diagnostics.
What we don't collect
- We don't track you across other apps or websites.
- We don't sell your data to anyone.
- We don't use your data for advertising.
- We don't store your precise location history.
Who processes your data
We use a small number of third-party services to run the app. Each only sees the data needed to do its job.
- Supabase — authentication, database, and profile photo storage.
- Mapbox — map tiles and location services.
- Resend — sends transactional emails (sign-up confirmation, password reset).
- Apple — if you choose Sign in with Apple, Apple authenticates you and shares your email with us (or a relay address if you choose to hide it).
- Apple App Store / TestFlight — distributes the app and provides anonymous crash reports.
Your rights
- Delete your account — open the app → side menu → profile → delete account. This removes your account and all data we hold about you. You can also email hello@thepiiq.com to request deletion.
- Access your data — email us and we'll send you a copy of what we have.
- Correct your data — most fields (name, photo, email) are editable in the app. For anything else, email us.
Children
Piiq is not directed at children under 13. If you believe a child has signed up, email us and we'll remove the account.
Changes to this policy
If we make a meaningful change, we'll update the date at the top and, when appropriate, notify you in the app or by email. Continued use after the change means you accept the new policy.
